Redesigning the Driver's License

This project was an exercise in exploring how bribery impacts the issuing of drivers’ licenses in India. Through our research, we discovered that small bribes were not the most pressing problem. The real issue was that people who paid a bribe for a license and never took a driving course felt empowered to drive, despite the proper education, resulting in preventable car crashes.

As a final outcome of this project, our team redesigned the driving license to provide information to increase accountability and awareness of the problem.This project was part of a class project for the MFA in Design for Social Innovation program.
